Why not just use a plain old hook? I've used hooks for years on all my bikes and they're fairly standard in many bike shops. As for hanging a bike from the rims, it's not a problem at all, they can support the weight of the rider in either compression or tension. Spoked wheels are a work of engineering art!

That was on the first season of American Inventor. And they were kicked out in the first round. A shame, because they could have used the free publicity, as it's a darn nice product.

I just have issues with hanging a bike by it's rims.
