Landliners
I just coined it as a term for those in, shall we say, the older portion of the demographic pie.
So in the future when you see people referred to with this word, you'll know where it came from.
Unlike jokes.
Don't you ever wonder who makes them up?
I once read a science fiction story called "The Man Who Writes The Jokes" (or something like that) about this mystery; I can't for the life of me recall who wrote it.
Maybe someone will let me know so I can give the author a shout-out.

I'd like to read that story; I wish somebody out there'd come up with the author. It sounds kind of Ray Bradbury-ish. (Hey, I've got a TITLE for a story: Bartleby the Joke Writer.)
Hmm, Landliners... Hells bells, it seems to me that the reliability of remote yakking devices is deplorable -- give me two tin cans and a string. Okay, a really LONG string. Oooh, that makes me think of a truly wickedly horrible phrase for the telephonically fossilized that places them in two centuries at once: Two tin cans (and a string), One girl. Eew.

Hey Dr. Joe:
really like your blog - a pick me up for sometimes dreary ordinary days :-) - and also many good ideas and insights!
The landline toggle switch. Are you perhaps a ham radio operator as well?
If so, 73's
