When I saw his new lace-up bootie in yesterday's New York Times ad, for a second there I thought I was hallucinating.

Same eyelets, same laces as Mephisto.

Different heel,

These would be dazzling worn with turned-down hiking socks and the slinkiest, wafer-thinnest, knock-outiest little black dress imaginable. If I had the birthdate, arches, joints, attitude, money, and especially, the butt for it, I'da done it.
