The same effect can be accomplished by preheating a iron or non-stick frying pan, add a drizzle of olive oil, if desired, and toast or lightly fry said bread product.
Baked good are particularly delicious heated in a fry pan. Perhaps moisture is retained, rather than eliminated, as would be in a conventional toaster.
