The dogs collar triggers the lids defense mechanism to shut, avoiding porcelain living germs to be transfered to the owners via licking!

An electric eye that lowers the lid when Fido approaches? (Only triggered by things with fur, otherwise it could be very disconcerting to hubby in the middle of the night.)
