Magic Mouse — Sensational
Apple's new mouse (above) is simply superb.
I've been using mine for the past six days and am still amazed at how powerful and elegant it is.
Instead of wearing out your arm moving the mouse around, you simply move one or two fingers on top of the device to move up or down a page or go forward or backward between pages in Safari (or Camino).
Watch the movie here, but you won't appreciate what an advance this is until you actually try one.
A snip at $69.

I'm with Bill... Trackballs are the way to go. Mice stink.

Joe, thanks for the review... so it seems there's a bit of 'track-ball' to this mouse. My question is, why won't Apple (or anyone else) make a comfortable, well-built TRACKBALL!?!
Generally speaking, I hates these meeses to pieces. When I work with a mouse (the previous version of Apple mouse) at Computers4Kids, I'm constantly having to lift and separate it from the cord, which gets tangled, or I'll run it awkwardly off the table or into the keyboard. What a hassle.
I'd much rather just spin a trackball. I had a wonderful one made by, erm, Microsoft, the Trackball Explorer, but it was not very robustly put together and one drop to the floor was all it took. Of course they're no longer made. I use a Logitech now but it's a pale imitation. I haven't used a Kensington Turbo Mouse since they were roller-based lifeforms and constantly gumming-up with my finger jam. Yuck.
C'mon, Apple... trackball love!

I still prefer the IBM/Lenovo TrackPoint Keyboard (I own four of them, on in my ThinkPad). The red nipple sits in the valley between the G-H-B keys which falls naturally under my index finger, and the left & right mouse buttons close to my thumb. I never have to take my hands off the keyboard.
That said, I know it's a love-it or hate-it type of mouse. I love it. Many hate it. I'm glad to have the option of using it.
The Apple Magic mouse is a great design. Thank you for the first-person review.
