He makes a pretty good argument.

Why is the Huffington Post gaining readers in droves?

1. Free.

2. Doesn't get ink on your hands.

3. Don't even have to put on your bathrobe to get it.

4. Arianna's kinda hot.

5. It's one of many handy places to gather when one has a hankering to build up, then tear down celebrities, who we can only take so much of, you know. Eventually, they're just asking for it, the randy, stuck-up bastages. Who do they think they are, letting us put them on pedestals and such? T'huh.

6. When Miley Cyrus turns eighteen, all hell's going to break loose and the Post will be right there to help build her up, too, before she inevitably falls in the gutter one night, after which the stink just won't go away, mark my words.

7. That accent of Arianna's just makes you think "might be a bit kinky," doesn't it?

Point of order: An argument can now consist of just a question and a link? Nice. I will keep that in mind.

Now. First thing tomorrow, I expect to see Tiger's breakfast menu and I don't mean just "cereal and juice." We need the frivolous details, dammit. Let us encourage the media's steep dive to the level of British tabloids. Yes, this means it doesn't matter if the story's facts are imagined. They know that the minutest of details make the story seem more real than it is. C'mon, fresh-squeezed? 1%, 2%, whole? Did he add sugar? Was he acting sullen? Was anyone slapped? Hop to it, you closet romance novelists.

Like a moth drawn to the candle...when is enough, enough?

"maybe this country wouldn't be in so much trouble if we had read the news over the last 8 years and realized that we were allowing our gov't to be idiots"

8 years? Heck, I'd say a good 8 months after our gov't was created before they started acting like idiots. :)

You know, I agree with Rokketteer...this is pretty much what TMZ is...and while I wish I never saw that site, nor ended up realizing I was 20 minutes into their television program, I have to admit it is addicting invading others personal lives.

And then I remember being in an industry where people paid too much attention to others...hell, I remember getting rudely shouted out to move away from an ex so that the sleezy photogs could better frame a shot that made it look like she had arrived with him (they were 15 feet apart, but the shots ended up looking like they were nearly hand in hand...I spent $15 getting that suit cleaned and pressed and no photos of us to be found! What a waste!!!)

So, why should we really care about sites that celebrate the invasion of people's personal lives. Right now, two peoples lives are being ruined by the press and we don't have the details...just people guessing. I want to know about the real news, not so guy that knows how to put a ball in a hole and might or might not be putting things in other holes they shouldn't be in. It is sad that this non-issue is listed above the aformentioned murders or otherwise...maybe this country wouldn't be in so much trouble if we had read the news over the last 8 years and realized that we were allowing our gov't to be idiots (and continuing on to the next presidency that I supported and now realize he is just as much of a politician as the last).

We need our minute to minute reporting, and we need people that actually read it...without the later, the former means nothing...anyhoo....

Oh, and as they are talking about on Opie & Anthony, the police murders in Seattle and the Dubai meltdown are quite a bit more important to me. Does HuffPost have minute by minute reporting of that as well?

Because they have a second by second account of what is mostly a private issue?

Maybe I'm missing something.

Or maybe I'm just prejudiced against a website that allows anti-vaccination articles that support homeopathy unchecked.
