Scopedog

Created by Japanese blacksmith Kogoro Kurata, it's a life-sized iron recreation of the robot Scopedog from the cult classic anime "Armored Trooper Votoms."

"I wanted to do something completely ridiculous," said Kurata. "Scopedog is an anime robot, but it looks like something you could buy from a street vendor."

FunFact, from Lisa Katayama's article in the new issue (Volume 20) of Make magazine: 20,000 Votoms fans showed up at the giant Scopedog's 2005 unveiling.
