Strat-O-Matic Negro Leagues Edition
Created by 39-year-old Scott Simkus , by night a limousine dispatcher in Chicago and by day a baseball historian who since 1990 has been collecting box scores of Negro League games, resulting what may be the country's largest trove of raw Negro leagues data, according to an item in the November 2, 2009 issue of Sports Illustrated.
Now he's combined that information with another of his passions, Strat-O-Matic Baseball, which I loved playing back in the day.
Last week marked the release of Strat-O-Matic Baseball Negro Leagues Edition, featuring Cool Papa Bell, Josh Gibson, Satchell Paige and all the other great stars who never got a chance to shine on the big stage before Jackie Robinson finally broke the color bar in 1947.
Great Slate article about the new game here.
