Very nice site, Thanks!
I'll never forget my early metal detecting days (many years ago). After days of minor finds I trekked to a red-dog area that had patches of earth. After about 2 hours of scanning and digging (you got to have a strong back for this stuff, and good knees) I proceeded to bring up a small beautiful cherubim type of handle. It was getting dark so I planned on coming back soon. I cleaned it, showed it to a seasoned antique collector.....
To my dismay it was a handle from a child's coffin from the 1890s...
