Themes and memes
Most of the good things that have happened to me in life seem to have followed change forced upon me.
For some reason, once I encounter resistance of any sort I'm much more energized and apt to produce something interesting and/or different.
I've noticed in recent months that a lot of stuff that appears here originates in news reports or other stuff I read, with a good proportion of reader suggestions and tips.
Years ago most of my posts originated as a result of things I happened on deep in my traffic, when I'd find a funkily-named site that happened to visit bookofjoe maybe one time and discover a really interesting slice of life.
So I'm going back to the future past, as it were, in the upcoming months and taking a dive down deep into the traffic, to see what's swimming there in the abyss circa 2010.

I've always thought it would be cool to have a day (maybe a couple times a year, kind of thing) when bookofjoe has no text at all accompanying the pictures & graphics that are featured, excepting what's absolutely necessary - prices, links, etc.: rebusofjoe. Yeah, rebus. It's always a riddle here, even without trying.
