50-Foot Robo-Spider in Liverpool
A September 6, 2008 Mail [UK] story stated,
"The steel and wood spider has sophisticated hydraulics which allow the dozen [!] engineers strapped to its frame to operate its eyes, legs and abdomen."
It was built by the French company La Machine.
Below, the 37-ton spider clings to the side of Liverpool's concourse building.
The spider was ferried to Liverpool from France at a cost of £1.8 million.
