Blast from the past: Comb Cleaner

Jojkokjo

Three years after first appearing here, it's still amusing.

At least to me.

But then, hey, you know how easily that's accomplished.

But I digress.

The original June 16, 2007 post follows.

Not one word has been omitted.

Pity, that... never mind.

Comb Cleaner — Why use your fingers when you can employ a specialized tool instead?

Maybe because your fingers work fine and they're always present, while you have to locate this tool before you can use it?

That's just my dark side talking, ignore it.

From websites:

............................

Fuller™ Comb Cleaner

Fuller's expert tool cleans combs, keeping you looking your best.

Polypropylene comb cleaner has twisted-in wire bristles to clean comb teeth quickly.

5" long.

Yes - alkaline cleaners do the trick. My version:

1: Find glass of appropriate dimensions.
2: Pour a splash of household ammonia into it.
3: Top up with water - hot water, if you're in a hurry.
4: Put comb in glass.
5: Go away.

At some point in the near future, extract the comb and give it a cursory rinse. It will be squeaky clean.

(There's probably some substance that people put on their hair that dilute ammonia won't remove. Hairspray, Dapper Dan pomade, I dunno. For ordinary scalp-muck, though, this works perfectly.)

We used to just put the brushes and combs in a sink full of water with a handful of baking soda. Worked just fine, but that's probably too low tech for a lot of people.
