This way overbuilt, heavy (four pounds) piece of kit, made from a single slab of aluminum, was an instant classic when it came out back in 2004.

I bought one in 2008 for my PowerBook and used it happily thereafter.

It still looks new.

When my new 13-inch Air arrived last Friday I put it up on the Rain stand and it was as if the stand had been designed for it.

Looks wonderful, works perfectly — rock steady and stable.
