This beautiful and real ostrich egg from Maison Martin Margiela is handmade and comes from a farm in France.

MMM_600-1

The egg has been filled with silicone, so it is heavy and can serve as a door stop or paperweight.

The very beautiful eggshell is fragile and the egg must be handled with great care and can not bear to be lost.

€253.

Instead of €25, you could order a fresh one and make your own doorstop after breakfast.

Yeah, what tamra said.

Fragile doorstop - isn't that kind of like making a cook pot out of wax? If I can't bear to lose it, then seeing it clobbered by an errant foot would make me suicidal.

The idea of a doorstop with a fragile shell was obviously thought up by someone without kids.
