23 "major" metropolitan areas and it doesn't include Phoenix?! What the hell!

This one is tracking personal bias and not the best Pizza. I know NYC and there are hundreds of excellent mom & pop shops that are better than Totonno's. Pizzera Mozza in LA is Mario Batali's latest hit (with two locations) and serves a fine pizza (if you don't mind the wait for a reservation - several weeks) but, Joe Mantegna's Taste Chicago (in Burbank) makes a very good Chicago Style and a Sicilian in a mom & pop shop that you can actually go to and enjoy any day of the week - no reservations.
San Diego is *not known* for Pizza. It does have the best fish tacos in the United States, though.
Kansas City's Minsky's is a local favorite and, located in Westport, is frequented by the 20-30 somethings who have been bar/club hopping. They aren't picky at 3:00am when the bars close (I've had some of the worst pizza at Minsky's during the Saturday evening rush) The best New York style pizza in KC is an unnamed pizza joint in a Northland shopping mall.
I'll be in Boston in three weeks and will give their entry a try.
Denver isn't known for pizza. Boulder is and My Pi has been serving excellent pizza for thirty years now.
San Francisco's choice is a very good choice - but San Franciscans take their food as seriously as New Yorkers and Picco is a stalwart if not THE standout in that lovely city by the bay.
