Is THIS bookofjoeTV?

K

Constant readers will know that I'm always thinking bojTV is about to happen, yet it somehow never does.

Yesterday when I went to YouTube my homepage (above) had something new in blue (below):

Q

What does this mean?

"YouTube now has live streaming using Hangouts on Air. Live stream to your channel now!"

Well OK then.

I clicked on the link and was taken here:

Simultaneously my iMac's camera came on and I saw myself walking on the treadmill in a little window at the bottom of the Google+ Hangouts page.

But wait a sec... what's "Air?"

"Hangouts on Air?"

I've heard of Hangouts and even tried it when it first came out but no one showed up so I bagged it.

Then I read the "Start a Hangout" instructions and saw you've got to invite people, name the hangout, select Hangout Options, etc.

Already way too involved for this TechnoDolt®™©.

And that's just to broadcast live to my YouTube channel.

But that's not what bookofjoeTV is about.

No, it's about broadcasting live right here right now without you having to go anywhere or do anything.

As always: Real soon now.

I keep thinking Airtime on iPhone will be the killer app but it still hasn't happened.

OK Joe. I think it's supposed to be Hangouts "ON-AIR" Like now with the sign lit up and everything.

You might want to rethink this one. You don't have to invite people if you are in their circles. G+ will show the your status to all your contacts which will indicate if you are "hanging out". At least it will show your status (as it did earlier today or maybe yesterday) with a small green camera next to your name. I'm assuming that means that you are on-line and have your camera set up and ready for a chat.

Unless I'm completely wrong. You always take your chances around here.
