Life in the Hobbit Hole
Wrote reader Jerry Young,
"Yes, a guy actually lives
in this little hobbit hole,
and he seems
rather sane to me."
From The Tiny Life: "When you hear the word 'hobbit,' immediately you think small, but I didn't think this small. The Hobbit Hole is a 'miniscule place of peace' and he isn't kidding — this house is all of four feet tall. You enter through a small door and make your way along a curve into what looks like a burrow. In addition, he has built a bath hut and a sauna on the two acres that he leases for $100 a year."
See video below
for his story.

Already my joining Pinterest this past Saturday is paying dividends.
I happened across the pearl up top in my wanderings there.

Keychain Virtual Keyboard
Is that a keyboard in your pocket or....?
From The Awesomer: "A pocket-size version of the popular virtual laser keyboard, this compact new model pairs with smartphones, tablets, and any other Bluetooth-enabled device to provide a tabletop typewriter."
This strikes me as the sort of thing that, if you were isolated and without any other keyboard access, you could master and learn to love.
Absent those circumstances, not gonna happen.
I've spoken with one person who tried the original laser virtual keyboard: He pronounced it "useless" as a result of the lack of haptic feedback.
No worse in that respect than the iPad, though — and at least you get a full-size "keyboard" to pound on.

Atari 2600 Joystick Earrings
"They're made by Etsy seller Catrina's Toybox using polymer clay."
"She used a touch of paint to add the detailed directional markers, and even gave them that worn feel that used to always happen after your sweaty palms were resting on the joystick for marathon Pitfall sessions."
$25.
