Hah, the only reason the sulfuric acid works to remove the stain is because it removes the napkin as well.

The day I find a stain remover short of concentrated H2SO4 that will remove turmeric stains (curry) from my linen napkins will be one of my finest. But hey! cream of tartar is worth a shot...

Any stain that good old white vinegar, a squirt bottle of stain remover I found at the grocery store, and some elbow grease can't remove is pretty much permanent. I've tried everything from Fels Naptha laundry soap to the aforementioned K2R (which in addition to being ineffective smells like an industrial chemical plant), and I stand by that assertion.
