Last panting project I had, I bought one of those pointless looking plastic can covers with a scraping surface and a pour-spout with a twist-off cap.

One of the best things I've bought for painting. Of course, it's not a long-term storage solution, but during the project itself, it was sweet.

Knowing me, I'd feel better adding a little bit of duct (or is is duck?) tape to the rubber band on either side. Otherwise, I can just see that puppy flying as soon as I lift the can.

Yes, this might have some merit providing you procure a strong durable rubber band that fits tight. I 'm going to try it on my job next week. Will report findings a.s.a.p.
Seems obvious doesn't it? Doh!
