I DRINK YOU'RE CUTE — Urban Outfitters

Screen Shot 2012-09-06 at 11.12.11 AM

This new T-shirt from Urban Outfitters makes a statement.

From takepart.com: "Urban Outfitters released a line of graphic t-shirts that glorify alcohol, drugs, and sex. One quarter of Urban Outfitters customers are under 18, and many more are not old enough to legally drink."

OK.

Politically incorrect, sure — but wrong?

You tell me.

It glorifies drunkenness. Is that wrong?

I didn't drink until I was 22 and I made up for what all my friends had done. Statistics show that those that drink even a little are more likely to abuse it, but I have a feeling this has to do with the US's romance of alcohol than anything more. I haven't had a sip in months...which is sad because I like the flavor, but I do go to the bars and I buy for other young ladies.

I would buy the one above a drink in a heart beat.

I've not raised any so I can't say with any authority, but it seems like it gives kids the opportunity to 1) give parents & teachers the finger, which they need to be able to do up to a point, and 2) to figure out what's appropriate and what isn't, and how certain actions can sometimes create seriously unwanted results.
