"People like you shouldn't be allowed to buy an iPhone 5"
That's one of the few sentences I can quote here (due to the G-rated/Disney-approved nature of this site) from an email I received yesterday from one ticked-off reader in response to my post about my still-dormant iPhone 5 (above and below, yesterday, on my front step along with Gray Cat and the day's New York Times as proof of temporal status).
Turns out that same reader had been initially irked last Saturday when I noted that my phone had been delivered three days earlier — on Wednesday, September 26 — and that I had no intention of turning it on anytime soon.
Below, Gray Cat gaining sentience while she napped next to the black monolith late last Saturday night.
Diff'rent strokes.

My cat is a reincarnation of Frank Sinatra,
She does it her way...

The thing about cats is that you can be absolutely one hundred percent certain that they will find the spot in a sea of many possible spots that will perfectly fit their needs and desires regarding temperature, enclosure, darkness, view, height, softness, and nearness to significant human and/or feline other(s). Your job is only to, as you say, offer her options. Cats do not martyrs make.

Silly girl, the cable box is her heating pad. This arrangement affords options. God knows the life of a cat is ALL about having options.

How rude! It is your money, you spent it the way that you want. Why would it be anyone's business what you do with the merchandise that you have because of that spent money. I say don't ever turn it on and if you need a new phone and want an iPhone 5 get a second one and keep this one turned off out of spite to this guy:P
