Full disclosure: I haven't a clue about computer code and when I read statements from people whose judgement I trust that learning the basics... of computer code should be mandatory in school I don't know how to react.

Having said that, I believe the place where computer code becomes executable and creates the digital world is no less fundamental to the mystery of the universe than the quantum foam from which it emerged.
