It took me about six yoctoseconds from seeing this courtesy of my crack LA correspondent's email earlier this afternoon till I placed my order.

Will it work?

Who knows?

The very idea of it is spine-chillingly wonderful and well worth the $99.95 flyer I just took on it.

i don't watch tv away from home. what about a similar device for home use that connects to my cable box?

In fact, it DOES work with iPhone 5 — but you need a Lightning to 30-pin adapter (which I just ordered). From the website:

Won't work on iPhone5. Also, if you check here http://www.elgato.com/elgato/na/mainmenu/products/EyeTV-Mobile.html#coverage
You'll see there is no coverage in Charlottesville.
