Two beautiful objects: Gray Cat's furry butt and Bayer's new aspirin bottle
I didn't even notice the Bayer container when I threw it into my shopping cart a couple weeks ago: it was only last night, when I reached into the cabinet and removed the bottle to get three aspirin (my decades-long remedy for pain of any sort annoying enough to require medication: three regular Bayer aspirin tablets and two 500mg Tylenols — I believe ALL the more recent and popular over-the-counter pain drugs like Motrin, Aleve, and their ilk are far more likely to result in unwanted side effects, don't work any better than the earlier generation I use, and cost significantly more to boot, making them suitable for fools and the general public).
When I went to open the jar the penny dropped: it's so easy to grip and use compared to the old version featuring that little white round plastic flip-off cap that you had to align just so, the points of the triangle perfectly juxtaposed, before using significant effort to lift off the top.
The knurled soft plastic screw-off top is a delight in the hand and the shape of the jar equally well thought out.
Huge kudos to the industrial design team that created this masterpiece of functional art.
