Would you pay $1,225 for a ham?
Me neither — but if you bought one for me and had it shipped to my house, I wouldn't be upset.
$1,225 (on sale: marked down from the regular price of $1,280) is what a nine-pound boned Jamón de Bellota free range acorn-fed 100% Ibérico ham will set you back.
I just did the math: that's $136/pound.

Is this the "pork" that political budget processes refers to?

I'll buy the ham. In single servings at my local Tapas bar.
