MLB.com At Bat for iPhone/iPad

For people like me who grew up listening to baseball on the radio pretty much every day of the season (I was an avid Milwaukee Braves fan who, during the years I lived in Milwaukee — up till 1966 when I departed for Los Angeles and U.C.L.A. — attended almost every home game during summer vacation and on weekends when school was in session), this app, which costs $19.99, is close to heaven on Earth.

You get live radio broadcasts — your choice of home or visiting teams — of every game of the season.

Where there are Spanish-language broadcasts, you get those too.

The app is chock full of all manner of free extras none of which I've ever used.

Me, I prize the opportunity to listen to the inimitable Bob Uecker call the Milwaukee Brewers' games, with all of his weird and wonderful and funny and "You gotta be kidding me" stories accumulated during his 55+ years in the game (now 80, he was signed by his hometown Braves in 1956 at age 22).
