Traditional Japanese Tatami Grass Mat Floor Panel

From September of 1968 until April of 1969 I lived in a room in the Tokyo suburbs measuring approximately 9 feet by 12 feet, whose comfortable floor consisted of 6 of these mats.

It was during my junior year of college, which I spent at International Christian University in Mitaka, Tokyo, in between my years at U.C.L.A.

A 36" x 72" mat costs $168.
