Tamra, so simple, people still call me Tam-er-ah, Tam-ah-ra, sometimes even Camera. I gave up long ago and just answer to all of them.

Joe, have you seen the YouTube site PronunciationManual (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqDSLtXeZsGc3dtVb5MW13g)?

Its shtick is short videos of intentional mispronunciations. Synecdoche is the favorite one in our house (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-n1vGeVIXo).

She got Paulo Coelho (ko-EL-yo (if you say it fast, it becomes KWEL-yo)) and Jorge Luis Borges (BOR-zhes or BOR-zhesh depending on your dialect) wrong, so why should I believe her for any of the other pronunciations?
