Jonathan de Shalit is the pseudonym of a former high-ranking member of the Israeli intelligence community. His books must pass a rigid vetting process, including the approval of a special governmental ministers' committee.

The first 3/4 of the book was excellent but then something shifted and the final 75 or so pages became gripping, so good I read as slowly as possible to keep the feeling going.

Wonderfully intricate and clever with a series of events that kept surprising me with their elegance and subtlety.
