Hans Wegner's Wishbone Chair

wegner_CH24_giant

Created by the great Danish designer Hans Wegner in 1949, this chair remains a steady seller after 55 years.

In celebration of Wegner's 90th birthday this year, the iconic chair is being reissued by Carl Hansen & Son in eight lacquer colors (yellow, green, blue, black, white, and three shades of red) that haven't been available since the late 1950s.

The standard natural wood finishes (beech, oak, and cherry) are still available as well.

Prices start at $550 here.

Full disclosure: I'm sitting in an original Wegner Peacock chair,

supremely comfortable and elegant to look at.

Hello,

I have a beautiful Hans Wegner Peacock Chair, which I really should sell, as I no longer have an appropiate place in my home to feature it. Purchased it about 21 years ago from Knoll, it is in excellent condition. Anyone looking for such a find, please e-mail me, I will send pictures at your request. Thanks, Roger Zimmerman of OH, USA

Dear Sirs,

Please send me price and information about where to buy 6 pcs. of the Wegner Wishbone Chair, laquered, most likely in red (you have several colours). Where can a (colour)sample been seen?

Live in Helsinki, but need the chairs in Palma de Mallorca. Can you arrange for delivery there?

Krister Ahlström.

Are there any agents in South Africa who keep the Wishbone Chair?
