Microphone–Shaped Sponge for Shower Karaoke
You know you want one.
Yes, I'm sure you could make your own if you focused.
Be careful, though: a thick sponge can be a formidable adversary for scissors or knives, especially dull ones.
No — I haven't ever tried to cut a sponge, OK?
I'm speculating.
There — feel better now that you've called my bluff?
I sure do.
$8 here.

I use cookie cutters and an Xacto knife to get my sponges just the shape I want.
In addition to bathtub fun, I use the cut-out sponge shapes for gift wrap. I buy the plain brown postal wrapping paper, dip the sponges in paint and go to town.
Yes, I know, I know. I seem to be able to find a way to make the easiest of tasks, like wrapping a gift, more difficult. It's one of my many endearing characteristics, I've been told. ;)

Yes, do be careful. Sponges ARE hard to cut, and amazingly hard on your scissors, too. I know because I buy the great big soft ones meant for car washing and cut them down to dishwashing size, since I am the plongeur around here.
But why stop at shower microphones? And why stop at sponges? When I was a kid we had a huge salt shaker and pepper grinder set, made out of wood and painted blue, and those things were perfect mikes for impromptu kitchen song breakouts, lending themselves extremely well to Tom Jones impersonations. I wonder how many out there are wondering who the hell Tom Jones was.
