yes.com: 'Find out what song is playing — on any radio station in the country'
No exaggeration — pretty amazing.
Put your ZIP code (that's mine above) or radio call letters in the search box and like magic, stuff happens.
Cool stuff.

Hey does anyone know some of the names of the new songs on the radio? I can't figure it out. Some help would be nice. Are there any by Avril Lavigne? Who else hates Brittney Spears?

I have found this website http://www.smstunes.com
they allow you to know what song is playing on the radio by texting the station frecuency. If you have a windows capable cell phone, you can download the mobile application and get the lyrics of the song that is playing.
They have a lot of features on the website.

Only had 3 1-hour segments out of the whole day -- definitely less than amazing, what a let-down. (Station: KLOS 95.5 Los Angeles, CA)

Not any radio station in the county---put in a Hawaii zip code and you get nothing!

Incredibly useful for when you hear a song on the radio and can't quite place the title, and you wait for the radio dj to say the name of the song..but it never happens. Thanks.
