First to walk on Mars?

K_7

What do you see?

The photo above appeared on page 14 of the October 3 Washington Post, captioned as follows:

"Chinese babies are aided by inflated devices as they practice swimming in Jiesou, in central China's Anhui province. China's one-child policy has led parents over the years to focus their attention, money and efforts on a single child. Some children are expected to learn multiple skills at an early age."

Huh.

For a minute there, I thought perhaps they were getting a jump on astronaut training, you know, weightlessness and all, in a decades-long training program designed to prepare their first citizens to walk on Mars for the long, lonely journey in between.

Speechless. Save to say that Asian babies are so cute in Buddha-beatific way.
