First Million Dollar Idea™ of the year
I don't waste any time getting up to speed, no sirree Bob.
Okay, then, take this one to the bank.
You know how much fun it is watching TV with a good friend?
Football, CSI, American Idol — whatever's your preference.
But it seems like most of the time you're watching alone, as are your friends.
Not with my nifty creation.
Long story short:
1) Call your friend via real-time videophone with one-touch dialing
2) Your friend's picture automatically appears in a corner of your TV screen (you choose the size and precise location) — and vice versa
3) You both turn on the show you're going to watch — and then do it, all the while able to wisecrack and comment and make small talk in real time
4) Take it to the next level by watching different shows — or no TV at all
Well, I've done my part: go monetize it.
And don't hesitate to pretend you thought it up yourself.
That's the way we like it here.

I read somewhere recently - no, I can't remember where, of course - how a similar technology is being introduced next year so the elderly don't have to eat alone anymore. So it could just be adapted to TV instead of eating and there you go. Work done. Cool million. ;)

How about a TV tuner card in your PC and then open up a Skype/Video phone call to your friend with the same setup? Hmmm. need huge monitor and webcam with microphone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:2screensystem.jpg

Joe, the problem is that TV isn't sync'd nation wide. Cable vs Dish is a huge problem. What we need is pay per view integration with the phone system so that it syncs your shows up with the person (people) on the other end.
