Rip Curl H-Bomb — 'World's first power-heated wetsuit'

Hbomb2hhj

Just the thing if you're gonna be surfing Lake Erie this winter, wouldn't you agree?

"Two lithium-polymer batteries power waterproof, fiber-based heating elements along your back to keep your core warm," wrote Popular Science in its January 2007 review.

More here and here.

Here's a link to a great movie of the suit in action in Arctic waters.

Yeah boots and gloves would be more useful and may be cheaper! $1000, I don't think I would buy one, I wonder how long it takes to recharge it. Kooks are the only ones that could afford them, it just seems to be that they have the nice boards and suits but can't surf.

I think this is a great idea. Actually heated gloves or boots would be more useful to me, if you have a really good 4/3 or 5/4 wetsuit you only get cold feet and hands. Well it will be 1000$ according to this site H-bomb wetsuit
Would you buy one :) ?

Y'know how lithium batteries like to explode?
Yer reckon "H-bomb" was a good choice of name?
