It's later than you think: Poodwaddle (say what?) World Clock
Just in from Russ Thomson, my doughty L.A. correspondent, this nifty page.
Russ sent a cryptic message along with the link, to wit: "Don't hit the 'Now' button."
Well jeez, Russ, c'mon — what's the first thing any self-disrespecting joehead's gonna do after reading that?
Huh?
Too bad, 'cause he was right.
It's been real, gang....

Tell that to my son who has disassembled every bicycle he has ever owned and decided to take his sister's bicycle to the convenience store this evening. He arrived home safe and sound with his diet coke without having contracted meningitis, hepatitis, malaria, tropical cluster diseases (what are those?), nor leprosy. As for the others I cannot say. I can say he did not manage to get a haircut on the way back! :)

Take heart in the fact that the manufacture of bicycles runs at about 3 times that of cars. If only we could get the usage to run in a similar way (rather than bike languishing in the back of the garage unused) then we might be able to slow down the rate of a few of the other rather worrying figures.

I pressed the "Now" button. It's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRd1tPIMWhg ! Not clever enough to be able to post a link without the entire addy here.
