My new favorite alarm clock

Wrap it up, I'll take it.

From the website:

    Round LED Clock

This clock has an easy-to-read blue LED, an alarm with snooze feature, and an AC adapter.

Made of plastic casing with metal components.

    4" diameter x 2" deep.

Does anyone else find blue LEDs hard to read?

The eye focusses blue light rather poorly, being optimised for the longer end of the spectrum - notably greens and yellows. If you're not blessed with perfect eyesight (I used to be as a nipper but these days I'm getting long sighted and astigmatic) trendy blue lights are a right pain in the arse.

I've taken the blue LEDs out of my car radio faceplate and replaced them with green - far easier to read in the dark now. Dark of course is when they're hardest to read as your pupil is wide open so you lose the "pinhole camera" effect of enhanced focus that you get in bright light when your pupil's a little dot.
I'd love to mod the backlights on my elderly Samsung A800 phone but they're just that bit too tiny.
