'Skull with Budgerigar' — by Jan Fabre
The piece, created in 2000, was part of a show entitled "I Am as You Will Be: The Skeleton in Art," which closed yesterday at Cheim & Read in New York City.
It is made from jewel beetle, click beetle and ground beetle shields on synthetic material with budgerigar.
6.3" x 7.09" x 7.87" (16cm x 18cm x 20cm).
Jan Fabre's sculpture is but one facet of his of work, whose full scope is visible on his website.
You can tour Cheim & Read virtually and view the items displayed in the just-concluded exhibition.
