I hook a bit out with a fork and run it under the cold tap for a moment. Though we don't eat spaghetti 'cos the wife can't handle it - fusilli's easier.

Looks like a great little device to sling the noodle against the wall, yes. Real torque there. That's how I manage, anyway.
