Blast From the Past: How to use bubble wrap

1eryj5

It's been over three years since this first appeared and I figure by now 95% of those who read it originally have tossed me overboard.

Conversely, most people reading this weren't here back then.

Without further ado, then, the still-valid October 9, 2004 post, repeated.
....................

How to use bubble wrap

Nothing is too small to escape my notice.

FunFact: half of all people are misusing bubble wrap.

The correct way to use bubble wrap is to put the bubbles on the inside.

Otherwise, you're not gonna be happy with the 3-D puzzle you receive in lieu of your Marcel Wanders

Egg Vase.

If you feel the need to further explore the wonders of bubble wrap, by all means, go for it.

Interesting cockroach facts: Cockroaches belong to a suborder of insects called Blattaria which means "to shun the light".

The brown-banded cockroach is also sometimes referred to as the TV cockroach. It often lives in the back of TV sets and other electrical appliances where it is warm. It feeds on the glue holding the set together, the insulation, and other parts.

There are over 3.500 different species of cockroaches in the world. About 50-60 species live in the United States. Texas has more species of cockroaches (30-35) than any other state.

Entomologist Christopher Tipping of Delaware Valley College has actually decapitated American cockroaches (Periplaneta americana) — “very carefully under microscopes,” he observes — to study what happens, among other things. “We sealed the wound with dental wax to prevent them from drying out. A couple lasted for several weeks in a jar.”

I like the wrapping in plastic grocery bag idea.
But, to anyone who hasn't discovered this already, here's a warning (I love warnings) -- cockroaches LOVE plastic grocery bags. (Don't say you don't have cockroaches; everybody has cockroaches, somewhere.) I don't know what it is, but they do. Maybe the odd breadcrumb or cookie particle. Anyhow, you're innocently unfolding bags and then you have a couple of those 2 inch jobs running up your arm and into your brassiere and life becomes high drama with much wailing and rending of garments and washing of skin. Just so you know.

No, no, no!

Properly packaged items are swaddled in leftover plastic grocery bags that have been mating furiously within the ciaroscuro of the pantry depths, with perhaps a couple of ziploc bags of homemade caramel corn to soften the blow that the recipient now has a bunch of randy grocery bags to dispose of.

Bubble wrap, on the other hand, is to pinch and wring and stomp on while laughing maniacally so as to expunge the guilt of sending off all those plastic bags and thus getting them out of your hair. Alternatively, the laughing maniacally and mad stomping on the bubble wrap is a victory dance.

I guess it really depends on how much sympathy you have for your fellow man.
