False flags and comment spam at TypePad
I just noticed, noodling around backstage, that TypePad has apparently received enough feedback about legitimate comments being flagged and blocked as spam to have made a change effective December 19, 2007 in its comment spam filter settings (see update above).
In the past I received at least one complaint a day from a reader whose legitimate, apparently non-volatile comment had been shunted off to spam world.
As a rule I always figure for every person who complains, there are 10 to 100 who're having the same problem but can't be bothered to report it.
These complaints haven't happened in recent weeks, which makes me wonder if TypePad's upgrade is working.
In any event, let me know if your comments aren't making it through.
