Memo to Jerry Yang, CEO of Yahoo, on how to start righting the ship

"The Street starts to lose patience with Yahoo," read the Financial Times headline yesterday.
Not a huge surprise, what with the stock price collapsing and Yang's announcement three days ago that he's laying off 7% of Yahoo's workforce.
Let's face it: no one who's serious uses a Yahoo email address anymore — it has an air of goofiness about it.
So why not get ahead of the curve before the next series of layoffs and change the company's name?
Up top, my modest proposal.
That's why they pay me the big bucks.
Wait a minute....
You.com.
bookofjoe@you.com.
I can feature that.
Sure, You.com will cost plenty — but cash in the bank is the one thing Yahoo's not lacking.
Go ahead, Jerry.
I won't even charge you or take the credit — you can pretend it was your idea.

All I know is that Yahoo's customer service is about the worst on the planet. I am canceling my sponsored search service, and sending my money to Google.
Yahoo "deactivated" the e-mail account phoenixprojectwest@yahoo.com for the non-profit organization I volunteer for because we sent out too many invitations to local businesses, or something (nobody has been able or willing to tell me why, or help with this situation at Yahoo). No communication from them at all - the e-mail account just vanished. Though I have tried several avenues of communication, the lack of response that I have received from Yahoo about this matter has been overwhelming. Nothing.
Never mind that I've explained in messages that we use that e-mail address for RSVPs for a big event we have coming up in a week. Never mind sponsors use it to contact us. Never mind we have a lot of valuable information stored on that account.
Yahoo has done nothing but frustrate my attempts to resolve this situation. We volunteer to try to help our veterans, Yahoo spits on us. Jerry should be proud!
