Strange Days Straining Ladle
Doesn't this implement look a bit like something the aliens left behind at their roadside picnic?
From the website:
- Straining Ladle
This straining ladle does it all.
Made of heavy gauge brushed stainless steel with 13" handle.
Perforated holes on one side strain liquids while the solid walls on the other allow scooping and pouring.
Nicole D's gonna kill me for this — but isn't "perforated holes" redundant?
I mean, aren't all holes — by definition — perforated?
Note: "Roadside Picnic," a 1971 novella by Russian brothers Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, is one of the very greatest works of science fiction I have ever read.
Go ahead, read it and see what it feels like to be in the presence of something far greater than you can even imagine, much less ever comprehend.

Greatest works? Hmmm. I'd say it's one of the weirdest. I love the idea, the "roadside picnic" part, the fact that what we deem so important might just be someone's leftovers. But as for the rest, I don't remember much, it's all muddled.

I was thinking more like a shoehorn for the round-heeled.
Oooh, I just thought of something...
Remember those auricle thingies, those ear trumpet-like gadgets that were featured a few days ago? Well, using those and the lorgnette as a models, just bend the handle down at a right angle and carry this thing around with you & stick the "bell" behind an ear when you're really interested in hearing something juicy. Any old ladle oughta do -- you don't need no stinkin' perforated holes.
