Not that you asked, but...*


... my favorite pizza in the whole wide world just arrived from my neighborhood Domino's.


Large thin crust extra crispy well done with:

• Double black olive

• Double mushroom

• Double pepperoni

• Double sausage

• Double bacon

• Double onion


First thing I do after it arrives is spread open the box and run my pizza cutter back and forth over the extravanza so as to create pieces approximately 2" square.

Then it's off to the races.

I mourn Domino's decision of about five years ago to bag the anchovies since "nobody orders them."

Except me, I guess.

Oh, well — can't have everything.

'Bout once a month does the pizza man makes his rounds here.

*NTYAB — whad'ya think?

A recurring feature in the making or a one-hit wonder?

Only time will tell.

Is not the entire blog concept pretty much one of a "Not that you asked, but..." kind of thing?

Hmm... "Not that you asked" sort of implies that if one HAD asked -- using the example of the pizza -- what your favorite pizza in the whole wide world is, where you get it, what your favorite crust and toppings are, your treatment of the pie upon arrival (and inquired as to any feelings of bereavement over once-available-but-not-anymore toppings of yesteryear), that one might have received a detailed (as above) reply.

I don't think so.

A better title might be, "Because You Didn't Ask..."

And because nobody axed me, I'm going into the kitchen and remove from a plastic bowl some leftover chicken salad that has, in addition to chicken, got celery, sweet orange pepper, hard boiled eggs, sliced black olives, toasted almonds, red seedless grapes, white onion, mayo, cream cheese and assorted seasonings in it, and smear a thick layer of it between two fresh slices of Sunbeam bread, which shall, in addition to a 5" square slab of well-buttered, heated-up sour cream cornbread and a large glass of heavily sweetened iced tea made with Luzianne tea bags and cooled with cubes from a fresh bag of Publix's crystal clear ice, comprise a repast to be consumed by me in a reclining position, laid out diagonally atop my four-poster, ridiculously high, knotty pine Cannonball bedstead. No cats allowed.

Domino's? Egads. I guess my area really does have some of the best pizza (at least, Wikipedia states that it's rather unique, and that's the report I always hear from people who return from out of state...)


Buffalo's pizza is also unique, perhaps because Buffalo is geographically located halfway between New York City and Chicago, Illinois, the pizza made is likewise about halfway between thin-crust New York-style pizza and deep-dish Chicago-style pizza.
