StepIt — 'Take a walk without ever leaving your seat'
Think outside the airplane space.
From the website:
- StepIt™ — Take a walk without ever leaving your seat
Exercise is the best way to keep blood circulating on long flights but it's not always convenient [or possible] to get up and walk around.
That's where StepIt comes in.
Just place your foot on the footplate and rock it forward and back to create a light walking motion that exercises your feet and legs throughout your flight.
Compact and lightweight, it folds flat to fit in any carry-on bag and a Velcro® strip keeps it firmly in place on carpet.
9" x 3¾" x 1½".
Weight: 8 oz.
Orange as pictured: $29.85.
Dark Grey or Turquoise: $36.70.

Wow, that's a lot of money for a lot of nothing. Just pick up a round dowel, that'll do about the same thing.
Listening to good music helps as well... Devo's making me tap my feet to Disco Dancer right now...

But what if it's a pedal-powered bomb? Surely the security bods'll never let you on board with it.

Would this help stop pitting edema on long flights?

Do it bare footed and get a massage while you're at it. And as long as you're pumping your feet, why not build a little generator into it so you can power your laptop or iPod?
