When ants party

Brazilian photographer Rivane Neuenschwander's short film, "Quarta-Feira de Cinzas/Epilogue" (above) has been showing at Washington D.C.'s Hirshhorn Museum for months, closing yesterday.

A note in the April 19, 2008 Washington Post read, "In the film, (a collaboration with artist Cao Guimarães), ants appear to turn last night's party (the confetti, anyway) into today's nest. How did she get them to pick up the bits of paper? Pork fat and honey, apparently."

And speaking of the ubiquitous, obnoxious little *u*k*rs, you could check this out -- a fake movie trailer within a movie. Shows the kind of thing I sweated bullets over as a kid, when I wasn't ducking and covering -- big giant mutated bugs and stuff.

That's Cathy Moriarty (of "Raging Bull" fame as the blonde screamer; I love it when the Mant gives her butt a goose with one of his "claws").

Hey, I hear 3-D movies are gonna make some kind of comeback. I'll be there, waiting to have my popcorn and Sprite snatched out of my hands!

Oh yeah, anyway, go to YouTube and search in videos for: Mant! Trailer.

DON'T MISS IT, IF YOU CAN!
