Wimbledon Fashion Throwdown: Ivanovic v Sharapova — Advantage Sharapova

1bvndthj

Just moments ago Ana Ivanovic narrowly defeated France's Natalie Dechy in an epic three hour twenty-four minute Wimbledon center court second round battle.

I was struck by the dreadful design and fit of Ivanovic's outfit (above).

Considering she's the world's number one player and poster girl for Adidas, among many others, it's hard to understand how such a cheesy dress managed to pass muster not only with her but also Adidas.

I mean, her clothing is hand-made after being designed by the company's top stylists — how can capped sleeves that don't fit properly across the chest, resulting in horizontal creases and overlapping folds, as well as dive bar-style exposed straps, make it onto the world's biggest tennis stage?

Decisive decision in favor of Nike and Sharapova's spiffy tux-inspired attire (below),

One of the daughters of Addidas management, the biggest shareholder and also a director of Addidas, needs work. Because she started her own clothing line with dads money.

Considering that I've been reading you for a while now, there is clearly no reason for me to be surprised at the fact that you can do fashion speak too, "dive bar style exposed straps..." I'm impressed.

Boy, am I glad I don't have to pass apparel muster with you. I'd be put in the hall of infamy and the Black Museum of Fashion Horror and the Prison of Offenders Against the Aesthetic Sensitives of the Universe. Whew. But, I do truly despise and detest capped sleeves, on any kind of human.

And, on a somewhat related but mostly not note, a bunch of us were sitting around the other day, trying to figure out the perfect bodies that we would love to have, using celebs, etc., as templates. This would be mine (it seems so efficient).

It appears at 7:00 in the video. On the right.
