World's fastest snake — The black mamba

It travels at speeds up to 12 mph.

It's also Africa's longest venomous snake, reaching up to 14 feet.

Lloyd, it sounds like your life has been overly exciting in the girlfriend department. You should probably carry antivenom.

Actually, I think the black mamba would be kind of cute if it wasn't so ornery. It has a little bit of a cute face, at least, with the corners of its mouth sort of curled up in a little smile. That's not to say that I'd want that much cute racing after me at 12 miles an hour. Not too crazy about the way it rears about five feet straight up and gets all belligerent if you're in its way, either. Jeez. Getting its way, all the time. Spoiled rotten. Maybe not so cute.

Nice little video.

If you replace " Black Mamba" with "my last girlfriend" and "Squirrel" with "Men" it also makes for a good doco of my life.

It may be the longest venomous snake in Africa, However, the African Python is the longest snake, can exceed 20 feet. Source: Karl P. Schmidt and Robert Inger, LIVING REPTILES OF THE WORLD. The pythons and the related anaconda of South America are of course the largest and longest snakes of the world, and can exceed thirty feet.
