Well, ladies and gents, it is actually real.. I will agree that it was bad camera work, but I know some monks that he actually met with face to face at the city of 10,000 Buddhas; (non Shaolin monastery in Ukiah California) when he came to the states. This guy was no communist and was not into trying to make communist china look good by any means. He was tortured as were other monks that he cared for like brothers by the communists. He performed his skill in front of the two monks that I know. They were disciples of the Tripikata master Hsuen Hua who founded the city of 10,000 Buddhas. wile Shaolin might have lost a lot of credibility these monks have not.

Shoot, I had the iron finger demonstrated to me three or four times just tonight when I got into the wrong exit lane for I-20 and was trying to switch in heavy traffic. One of those times it was coupled with the silver tongue, too.

It's very disappointing that the preponderance of commenters believe this noble gentleman's skill is a fake. Especially given his age, and the very number of years he must have produced in order to perfect this art, it is the most of disrespectful to speak so scornfully of something so noble.
The Jedi have shown that far more is possible, so it is not surprising that the simple practice of Kung Fu would be able to produce this noble demonstration after many years of focused practice. In addition, the quality of the video is such that any errors in editing must be forgiven.

No, the Peoples' Republic of China would never cheat or lie in the media to make itself look good- not Communism, no way.....

Don't be fooled, because he's got plenty of help. There's an iron rod that is hidden behind his finger that is assisting him with about 98% of the weight load. This is an old, and very common magician's trick similar to the levitation and magical 'weightless' tricks, just at a different angle.

I wonder how much he'd sell that finger for...

Not saying that it can't be done, but it it was real, how incompetent a videographer/editor must you be to show this move in such a way that it looks like a bad fake?
Show the guy getting into that position and it becomes believable, without that additional information? Sorry, this clip just looks like a poor fake.

I like that part when they are focusing up on him and you can see his arm flexing as if it had *NO* weight on it at all. I mean, most amazing. I mean, I can do a few 1-finger pullups (ok, so can most climbers)...but it is just amazing...I wish we could see the transition from sitting to finger pushup...maybe there is a trick in how he does it...like grunting a lot...yeah...it couldn't be...oh no...not that...
